Having finished the ornate sword hilt and the Mauser carbine, I primed everything this afternoon. I've left the reins and so forth off until I find out if Marc Megroot wants them on or off prior to painting. Marc should be receiving it about two - three weeks. I want to allow at least 3 days for the paint to dry and I still need to prime the road sign and road base and let that dry also. Probably need to run the steel wool over a few things also.

This one was a lot of fun! Hope you like it!

The photos were taken late in the afternoon. Please forgive the shadows.

Thanks so much, Roc! The painting will be Mr. Megroot's department. But I'm really looking forward to seeing what he can do! The tunic should be dark blue with yellow piping, the trousers light sky blue with white stripes, black boots, black oilcloth cover and white bob on the cap. Should be fun!

    All the best,
    Dan

Very nice Dan. Having seen your sculpting close-up, I'm quite jealous of Marc! Look forward now to seeing it painted & finished.

    Many thanks all!

John - I've been a big fan of your work right from the first! Great stuff, man!

Dave - Thanks guy! I'm working on Ted elsewhere. Hope you like it!

Rog - Thanks and keep up the good painting! Your napoleonic piece was neat-O.

Marc - Thanks and I'm as eager to see you painting it as everybody else! Let me know by e-mail please whether or not you want the reins, bit, etc. on the horse or not prior to my shipping it to you. As I said, I'm using map tape for the reins and stirrup leathers because putty strips can't be made (by me anyway!) thin and even enough without also being very fragile.

    All the best,
    Dan
