    Hi guys,

Here's a little project I started last year and left on the painting base for a long time.

A rare Japanese large scale figure, and one of the better large scale plastic figures done by Tamiya.

Painted in oils. An finished in acrylics over a Dullcoat seal.;) ;)

    Cheers

Good job Tony! I like your colour choices and the face especially (which is btw not bad for a plastic figure).

    Thanks!

    Thanks John, Denes and Marcel,

    I'm glad you like him.

Not a bad result for a plastic moulded figure.

    Cheers

    Hello Tony

    Hello Tony,

nice model. I don't quite understand what you mean by painted in oils and finished in acrylics over an undercoat ( sorry just being anal retentive...:)).

I was just watching a good documentary on these Kamikaze pilots and their futile efforts during the last phase of the Pacific war which coincides with your posting. Thanks.

    Hi Victor,Marc and Mark,

    Thanks for your comments guys.

Victor, after I painted him in oils I sprayed him with Dullcoat Flat sealer.

This protects the oils underneath and I apply acrylics over the top of the dry Dullcoat for the finishing touches. The last step involves drybrushing some Acrylic Gloss over the face and hands and a few extra coats on the eyeballs.

    Cheers
