Hello fellow figureres. Here i present you my latest figure. Royal Horse Artillery Officer by Pegaso at 54mm. The figure is painted exclusively in oils. Of course it is lower quality than Jim's one, but i really tried my best with this excellent figure.

All comments and critics are welcome.

Well done, Xenofon! I like how you didn't over-highlight the bearskin crest. Looks much more convincing when the color is subdued.

I have to get this figure! The pose is wonderful and fits the subject perfectly.

Very well done Xenofon......the flesh and the blues are great. Maybe the whites could use more contrast.....but that might be from the lighting of the photo. Keep up the super work.

Thanks a lot for your comments guys, i really appreciate them. You are right on the whites Guy, the lighting was placed infront of the figure so it lights the whites even more.

I have to agree with Roc. Don't sell yourself short. You have done a nice job with this figure. I like your blues and how they turned out. This really is a nice figure. It doesn't have all the "bells and whistles" other figures have but it does have a very nice casual pose with enough color to set it off. For all those who do like this figure, I strongly reccomend taking a look at this one. It's also sculpted by Maurizio Bruno. I'm quickly becoming a fan of his work. He obviously doesn't believe in the stiff "at attention" poses so many other figures suffer from. So, with that all aside, what's next up on your workbench Xenofan ?

Thanks a lot for your encouragement Jim and Roc. I will agree with you about Bruno's figures. I have ordered the two latests figures of his by pegaso. The dragoon and the artillery officer (more blues for me:)) I think that his poses are excellent along with the figure details etc.
Next on my workbench is an Art Girona figure: Virginia Heavy Artillery, 1864. Very beautiful figure with also a great pose.

I think the white pants look great. Absolutely the only thing that I would mention for possible improvement is the Blue. It may be the photo's but there is a slight gloss that would be easily corrected with some mat. Not sure what blue you used but Indigo and French Ultramarine dry the flatest of all oils...

    But definately a (y)

Thanks for your comments Keith and Marc. Really appreciated. Marc on the bench right now is an Art Girona figure: Virginia Heavy Artillery, 1864. Very nice figure, highly recommended.
Keith for the blues i used indigo for the deep shadows, and i was adding titanium white for lights. It's just the photo, the blues are dead flat i would say. Honestly i don't know why they look like that in the photo.
