    Thank you very much, Pedro.

Thank you very much for your kind comment, Pedro.:)
I blew by a hand piece about flesh color, so I think it was the smooth finish.
I'll make them put the accent on a contrast by the stage of the completion about facial painting.
    Thank you for liking it.;)

I'm included in the stage of the painting of completion already.
I think a picture can be contributed while being close.

The bust model was after a long time for me.
    I'm painting very pleasantly.
I think the completion is also early.

Thank you very much for your detailed explanation, JasonB.:)
Because the ancient Roman ages are also long years, I can also consent to have abundant variations of a military uniform.
However treating intention makes the quite typical Roman soldier a figure manufacturer.
Your comment was study very much.(y)

I have begun to paint completion.

I have begun to paint completion.:)
I applied a gold part first.
    And I washed around those.
Next I finished a part of clothes off.
I painted a mustache a little, but this part has not been complete yet.
A shade was put in a part of armor at the end.
I played black by a hand piece.

    Facial painting is left.
When this ends, this figure is an end mostly.

    hello Mitsutaka
you might scuff the lower edges of your plates somewhat this would give the eye of the viewer more detail to rest on.some rust and maybe some bruises from enemy blows on it might break up the unique shinning armour parts somewhat.its very hard to recerate shining armour in an bust with limited place
    cheers

    Mitsutaka,
On the armor, don't go overboard on the shininess, or on the rust. In general, the Roman soldier would have been required to keep his armor in good condition. They used something like Olive oil and pumice to remove rust, grit, etc. So even though this would leave a clean surface, it would also cause a bit of scratching, like cleaning a metal pan with fine sandpaper. At a distance it would appear shiny, but close up it would be more of a satin or matt, with swirls apparent. Rust would be removed as soon as possible, Lorica Segmentata wasn't cheap to make and as I recall, the cost of equipment was taken out of a soldiers pay. He would want it to last as long as possible. Of course in the middle of a campaign or post battle, its going to look more grungy than in camp, but please don't go all rusty and beat up, like it was made of old tin roofing or something. The same is true for the helmet. The re-enactors stuff you see today is made from highly polished (mechanically polished that is) high carbon steel and looks mirror like, probably not a good representation of what the real thing would look like on most occasions.
    Cheers

I make a mess on a plate a little more, too, and I'm thinking it's better to give damage.
I'd like to adjust it by a final stage of completion.

Shouldn't I make a mess on armor so much by your information?
May I think there was no rust in armor at least?
I'm thinking it's too clumsy as a figure since armor is too brilliant.
I think I'll consider a balance of the whole figure and consider processing of armor.
    Thank you for telling me.(y)

    Facial completion.

I have begun to paint facial completion.:)
VALLEJYO - all COLOR was used.
    It isn't finished perfectly yet.
I'm thinking a face is an important part.
So I'd like to spend and complete time.

    Re: Thank very much, JasonB.

If you decide to add any rust, do it very sparingly, perhaps around the hinges and in other hard to reach places. The hinges themselves were brass, so they would not rust. Other wear, tear, grit and blood at your discretion, depending on how you want to portray him (in the field, in action or in garrison).
