This is a Republican Roman Centurian, who lost his head to an angry Celt.
    Just kidding.

I've had this figure sitting on my work bench for some time, I finally decided to finish him.

1- a) Brushed the armor with a swuede brush.

Burnished the armor 000 steel wool.

c} Washed it with warm water and Ivory dishwashing detergent, make sure you
    you rinse well.

d} gave the the armor numerous controlled washes of Ivory black mixed
    with turps.

e} When dry I burnished the extreme highlight points with the end of a knitting
    needle.
f} weathered the bottom half of the armor with a wash of raw Umber. Did not
apply sealer beacause I wanted a tarnished look.

    2- Cape
a} Undercoated with Joe Sonja's Napthol red. acrylic paint.
B} mixed Cadmium red + Cadmium red deep for base color.
    c} medium shadow, Cadmium red.
    d} deep shadows, Alozzarin crimson.
    e} extreme shadows, Chrome green.
    f} medium highlight, Cadmium red.
    g} extreme highlights, Scarlet red.
h} while still wet I applied dirt and mud to the bottom or where
desired,I highlighted and shadowed the mud and dirt as much as
    possible.
i} Put figure in oven to dry at a low temperature of 140 degrres for a couple
    days to eliominate the sheen.

    3 Read leather
painted the red leather same way as the cape, except for the base color I
added a touch of allizarin crimson and a bit more of cadmium red deep.

So it's true, when the head is lopped off the body keeps moving.

All kidding aside, very nice work. I look forward to seeing the finished product.

    Sorry about the horrific pictures.
I used the same technique for the helmet as I did for the rest of the armor.
The crest was painted in lighter shades of red .
