    Hello Planeteers ,
here are some pictures of my long forgotten Soissonois Fusiliers to be added to the Yorktown diorama.
I painted bit and pieces of them, only 2 of the coats are almost finished, some of the lapels and faces, still a lot to do on them and i am still experimenting on the crimson ,already painted some grenadiers and i am happy with the crimson shade, but trying different mixes so they are not all the same an will give a slight variation , i guess in a regiment not all the coats will look the same, especially battle after battle.
My sincere best wishes for all of you in this Holidays.
    cheers

    Very nice work Daniel
You must be able to paint these guys in your sleep by now! And yet another shade of white!!! This one seems more to the tan side than the others you've done... or is it still a base coat?

    Cheers

    Hey Colin,thanks for passing bt.
This is a basecote only, i did the one from Stephen maila's tutorial at el greco miniatures.
Base: ivory, pale sand , japanese uniform and a dab of black.
I am hoping to finish this guys by march or so.
Still working on my swiss guard, awaiting the scenery to arriva and decided to work on the Soissonois troopers meanwhile

Nice work Daniel. Look like it will be a interesting diorama. What's your plan with it, I can't tell is it historex figures?
I'm impressed by you who can manage to build and paint so many figures I lose my focus if there more than one at The time. :)
    Regards Lars

Thanks for your kind comments Lars.
The Yorktown diorama comprises of 4 bases of 12x12 ,i already have two bases ,one with 9 figures already finished and another with 5 figures, still need to add another 14 or 15 figures to them.
The other two bases will have the French artillery and other base with the general staff, so it's an ambitious project, long but i will like to see it finished one day.
The figures upper body is from Modeles et Allures (France) , it's from an earlier period uniform (1767) and modified to resemble the 1779 specifications for the French infantry uniform.
the legs are from JMD , the tricorne hats are made by me and the legas are from Miniwelt ,quite a mix of brands :p.
I do get sidetracked all the time, not easy to see so many figure incomplete, but for the most part i am patient and try to finish them.
Best regards and keep up your excellent work ,i like your style very much.

:dead: it's a hard color to work with , not near the great job i have seen on some of the planeteers .
but i will keep trying to improve my technique.
    Thanks for passing by Martin!
