Hey guys, finally got around to painting the face and a little bit of the hat.
This figure is most definitely an arduas task, but never the less a labor of love and very rewarding .
I highly recomend this figure to any painter looking for a challenge.

I'm always open to advice and crtitique.

Aftre drying in the oven over night at a warm temperature of 140 degrees,I will give it extreme highlights and shadows.

    Roc-

You are kicking butt on this figure.

The mutliple colors and color placements on the hat are challenging. I learned a good lesson about planning my sessions out better after painting the VL bust.

The hat is a blast to paint! Yours looks great. I am impressed by how quickly you are moving along. I don't know who is faster you, Guy or Anders. :)

    Hey Keith, thanks, much appreciated.

As far as moving quickly,I thaught I was dragging a little.
No body is faster than Guy and Anderson, these guys can finish a figure in a week. :)

    Cheers

Your Lancer is looking fabulous Roc. Ok.........you motivated me to bring mine back out and get some more done with him. Although I will have to say, yours is looking much better so I may defer the pics of mine.

As far as speed painting...............Anders has first place by a long shot. He can start a figure and have him finished in a week. It takes me much longer to finish a single figure.

Looking good Roc!! Gotta love something that is red!

As for speed, a week for a single figure!!? Thats a long time if yuou ask me! It all depends on how much you can paint, I am not nessessarily a fast painter, but I do paint a lot, specially now that I am out of school and have nothing important to do!

    Anders -

Enjoy it while you can :)

After returing to the hobby after a 18 yr absence, in one year I have completed exactly 4 figures. Of course, I did not include the 4 or 5 I am still "working on"... more or less...

I'm glad to hear ,that I motivated you to finish your Lancer, albeit I would be very dissapointed if you didn't post pictures for all of us to enjoy. :(

Nice work indeed - this figure is one of the first large figures I ever painted - I was really really proud of it and I have started looking at it in a new light - occasionally I ask myself - "Should I strip that back and start again?"
I agree with you - it was a blast to paint.
I look forward to seening the end result!
