Beautiful paintwork Jeff... I wish I could pull off whites like that. Your metals, plate and mail, look fantastic. I really like the leather too... maybe a touch more wear along the edges and at the creases... just a touch mind you.

Carry on. Looking forward to further progress on this piece

Ok guy's, I'm calling this one done.

I'm still going to add a small dead branch or two, to the groundwork, just haven't found the right ones yet.

Painted in acrylics, with metal sections done with enamels.

As always, all criticism's and comments welcome.

That looks stunning, Jeff. Beautifully painted, and I like the snow/mud on his boots and cape.

Great work Jeff. I like the restrained shadows on the whites, very easy to go overboard. The weathering on the metals is outstanding.

    Thanks a lot Graham!

True mate about the whites, it looks way different in the natural light after you've given the eyes a rest than painting under desk lights. What you think is just right under lights, looks way too dark once you get it away from them, which is the same for all colours really, but very applicable to whites.

    Thanks again mate!

    G'day all,

I was not happy with the original photos I had up, so I deleted them, they were way too soft.I don't know what happened with them, so I took some new ones this morning and put them up.

I think the new ones are a lot better than the other ones I posted.

Very nice... did you had problems assembling the arms?

Huw, Debrito and Steve, thank you very much for commenting guy's!... Much appreciated!

Debrito, yes the arms were a bit fiddly to get right.I drilled holes in each attachment point and pinned them with thin brass rod, then mounted them and manipulated them into the right position before glueing them with two part epoxy glue.I made certain they would fit right in before getting the glue ready.

I still had to fill a couple of the gaps in the joins though with magic sculpt putty to tidy things up.

A bit fiddly to attach, but nothing too difficult.

    Thanks again,
    Jeff.
