    Thanks Mauro and Eduardo!

    14. Day, 8. December 2011

If one or other this morning has waitetd on the new result of this sbs – now only I can make up, unfortunately, because I can go on-line now only again.

Yesterday night we had storm and when shortly after midnight an especially violent gust had "hit" here, the light has briefly flickered and my PC has got out. I left him then from.

And when I wanted to put today the new continuation purely, for me my horror error- message was to read „Windows cannot be started!“.

So a friend called who has closed first of all data protection pursued (I make this too rare.) Then everything switched off.

WHY HAPPENS SOMETHING ALWAYS TO THE WEEK-END???!!

I have tried it the day about several times, but "Windows"? De nada!.

In the afternoon then the PC to the computer-auxiliary service brought.

There everything became together again – to a mistake analysis – again and what was then: PC ran without difficulty.

Does somebody have a notion what has happened there? Spontaneous selfhealing or what …?

Today also there was the first small setback on panting.

Today, actually, I wanted to make the cheeks, but it has been enough only to make one.

When I had already started with the second cheek, a tiny impurity in the wing of nose has struck me.

Okay, I could paint about that away, but I did not want this.

So only the colour came down here again, afterwards the priming and I the whole was cleaned up with Milliput.

Now, unfortunately, you must wait till Monday, until I paint the other cheek.

    I wish You a nice Advent week-end!

Edit:I have seen this very hard crossing beside the nose and over the noustache just seen in the pictures.
Before somebody should take exception to it: This mistake is no more...

First would be still to be said there: Also to you many thanks Eduardo!

    15. Day, 12th of December, 2011

It goes on with the last week incomplete remaining cheek.

First I have covered the eyes substantially and then have disguised all other painted places in the head.

Round the cheek I have used so-called "flying mask". These do not lie firmly, but "float", so to speak, 1 millimetre in the air.

With it one gets while spraying with the tin no clearly visible colour beginning, but a fluent crossing.

Then it was new undercoated. The spray action has gone well!

In the picture I see level that one cheek has been a little darker, than the other one.

Moreover, I have not blinded a small place in the corner of the eye substantially.

There I will immediately go once more on.

Moreover, has struck me that I have damaged the wing of nose something the last Friday by my cleaning action beside the nose and which is now clearly small as the other. One can recognise this on the photos on top well.

There I will still have to sculpt after.

Tomorrow then You will see the result.

My so-called "Sections Painting-Method" also bumps here in this forum more often into astonishment. I am not used to it differently.

I have contracted the habit of this because I may / must paint always only one small part of the figure per day for certain reasons.

The method is not so difficult, by the way, at all! One must exactly document only the different colour blendings.

I work not with a wet palette, but interfere my tones on an old white wall tile.

One can use the rests dried up there the next day wonderfully as a colour pattern.

Pleases me that you like the result!

    Cheers

    16. Day, 13. December 2011

Today I have painted the forehead and the nose.

With the nose I think that my self-sculpted nose- (on the photo it is the left one) with Andy's original (right) absolutely can keep up.

What concerns the forehead I had absolutely no idea what I make with it, or how I could show it.

Till another forum somebody has spoken of a "wrinkle forehead". This was the catching fire idea – and now thus I have also made it.

    17. Day, 14. December 2011

Today temples, lateral cheek and lower jaw originate on the one hand.

Because our friend shows a rather round face without deeply sunken parts under the cheekbone, I am reserved what concerns the dark tones, also tries and to do justice to the modelling, and not to let look too deep the thing.

Indeed, I have added to the basic colour for the darkest parts, dominated in "Saddle Brown" now, still a very tiny part Violet there...:

And thus it has become …:

I do not find the result at all so bad …

Tomorrow it goes on on the other side …

Today I have painted the other side. Absolute symmetries were consciously avoided, because our Cossack a light head rotation shows …:

    19. Day, 16. December 2011

Today is the immense moustache in it which our friend carries in the face.

I do not want that this beard dominates the remaining face optically, which is why I had decided to take back him in colour.

The beard should "be there", but put not all other in the shade.

Suitably to his to rather bright eyes my Kuban-Cossack gets a blond moustache!

One should not use "right yellow" with blond hair rather, because looks too comic-like and unnatural.

Somewhere in a forum (here?), moreover, I have read sometimes the sentence: „Blond is just one bright brown“.

The best explanation for Blond which I have ever read. Thanks to the originator whom I have forgotten, unfortunately!

In any case, I have had this sentence in my head when I was painting.

I have selected these colours to me:

    So to the thing:

The moustache was undercoated with yellow ocher.

Afterwards the whole splendour with "Chocolate Brown" was washed. If brings first depth and makes secondly the yellow ocher a little darker.

The third passageway: I mix yellow ocher about 3:2 with "Light Flesh" (what also takes the yellow sting, among the rest, from the colour out) and brushes the single hair carefully.

Thus it has become. I find my "Blond" rather persuasive …:

I think, the thing will look even better if the mouth is only ready.

With it it goes on the next week.

Till then: A nice Advent week-end to You to all!

Yes, you are right: Many have fancied this Cossack dark-haired, I hear also in other forums.

But just because later there so much dark tones will be at the bust, I planned from the beginning the combination bright eyes / dark-blond hair...

And there was such a thing with Caucasus Cossacks absolutely...:

Nice to see you are at it again Martin.

I look forward to following the rest of your thread, even though I am not into cossacks!
