A great looking face there Edward. If the rest looks as good you will have a cracking piece there.

Thanks for the "like" Edward. I picked up this figure yesterday from the grey army of a painter who has passed on. A model shop in Glasgow is selling his collection on behalf of his widow and this was one of the few pieces that were left. I stumbled on this thread, and your "completed" thread, while doing a bit of background research and I've added them to my reference file as the painting is amazing :)

The figure I bought isn't quite complete, I will need to make the straps that hold the scabbard as they are missing but I hope that I can do the figure some justice on behalf of, and with respect to, his former owner.

I have an open question regarding the sporran (apologies for hijacking the thread). I have seen a few references that say that the Camerons' sporran had two "tails" rather than the six "tassels" represented on this figure. Can anyone give a definitive answer? Also if anyone has any clarification on the colour(s) of the hackle it would be much appreciated, I have read somewhere that it is plain white :)

    Cheers,
    Billy

Thanks Billy! You need to make the straps yourself as the kit doesn't include them. I cut mine from thin plastic card.

I'm really not sure about the reference questions - I think I just followed the box art assuming it was correct!

Thanks for the heads-up regarding the straps Edward. I was thinking of making them from masking tape cut with two scalpel blades taped together. It's a tip I picked up from an aircraft modeller, the width of the straps can be adjusted by using a shim/spacer between the blades.

    Cheers,
    Billy
