    G'day All,
This is my latest conversion of a Naked Army 1/6th figure in progress. It depicts an Australian Digger's studio portrait prior to embarkation to France 1916.
    All commnets appreciated.

    Cheers
    Al

    G'day Al,

Mate he looks superb. I agree with Ian that you should tilt his head slightly. I know you're just looking for another excuse to get your hack saw out and chop him up!!

Presumably this is based on the "Billy" the Digger kit from Naked Army??

Can't wait to see him painted.

    Good work mate.

    Cheers

Thanks for the comments , the head has already been tilted slightly a quick snap and a bit of putty and presto will get some more photo's to you soon. The figure is originally the Artillaryman , Puttees are almost finished as well.
Ian look forward to meeting you in person at QMHE.
    Cheers

Nice work Al! A tilt of the head would be a nice touch if you're planning on that. The flag he appears to be holding in the pic would be even better! Keep us posted.

Outstanding Al! Hey, can I make a suggestion? Looking at the period photo, his neck is shown more than in the figure and the shoulders are quite a bit broader, aren't they? Strictly a suggestion.

    All the best,
    Dan

Thanks for the comments , I have tilted the head to a similar angle to the photo and that has given the figure a more prominent neck close to the look of the original photo ,have to get some more batteries for camera and will post some more photos for you to see.The shoulders do look slightly smaller than photo but repositioning the head tilt seems to bring that pretty close to photo( and also takes the stiffness out of the figure)

    G'Day Guys.
Thankyou for your comments,I thought i'd do something a little different with this one, i have completed the putties and I'm about to start working on the hands behind him they will be very relaxed fingers slightly curled on right hand ( thats the plan anyway hopefully i'll be able to produce the look i'm after ) will keep you posted with some up to date photos soon.
    Cheers

    Excellent work,Alan.
That slight tilt to the head really imparts a certain attitude, perhaps a confidence or a casual pride anyway it works well.
Looking forward to seeing it painted!.

Great idea. Having seen the AWM photo exhibtion and owning the Lost Diggers book I think you are nailing this. A lovely tribute to them.
