It seems the only kits i paint these days are the ones that have slow sales histories and this one is no exception, its Seils 200mm Gone with the Wind take off and is really beautifully cast with very few moulding blocks or seams to clean and the fit is really good

I must admit i really am enjoying painting busts and i cant see myself painting too many more 54mm figures from now on

as you can see its only cleaned and primed at the moment, but i have never photographed my work as it goes along before and thought i would give it a go and see if it makes me take more care with my work

primed in citadel white pressure can spray with the flesh base coated in citadel tallern flesh, i've yet to make up my mind if this kit will be painted with oils or acrylics but i guess the flesh will be in oils at stage.

I'm gearing up for Battalion '08 next weekend so it will sit around like this for around another week before i have to make my mind up

My only suggestion would be not to use the same flesh base colour for both Rhett and Scarlett. Scarlet should have a much lighter, paler complexion, as befits as Southern Belle, whereas Rhett should be darker, tanned and swarthy.

Can't dissagree with Tony. With that said, I've been slightly intrigued with this bust since Squadron had it on sale this last time. I'll watch this with anticipation to see how it comes together. This may just be what I need to get a copy for myself!

I think Jay, and Tony have a point. The skintone of a lady is must paler, lighter and very soften then a the skincolor off a man.
This is far the most important thing with these bust's. You gonna take extra car for that.

However, these are the undercoats, so only foundation stuff.

How did you lay down the skin tones; air brush or paint brush?

As for doing a WIP, I'm finding it handy. And your work inspired me to return to the bench!!
