    Hi all :)

Well I asked for her so I thought Ken deserved to see my attempt to add some painty stuff to his sculpt :)

I have deliberately painted her separately from her patient ... on the origional painting there is a distinct difference in the base colours used.

Also the woman's face is very much the focal point of this image..

Please feel free to comment, correct or criticise :)

    Looking great so far Mark.
I'm always impressed by painters who tackle flats.
A real challenge to put aside many established 'round' painting techniques
and develop new styles to create depth.

Wow, I love the flesh tones you have going. Who makes this flat and where can I get one? Also where could I find a picture of the original painting?
    Thanks

Great start! The lighter flesh tones on her face will stand out against the soldier's flesh tones. A good contrast.

What is the dark line under her lip? A stray brush hair?

...and it's been a few hours since your last post; is it done yet? :)

    Cheers,

    Glen

Andy, Bob, Gordy, Glen, Maco and Dennis ... Cheers everyone :)

Bob, I'm sure you noticed the other thread for this and the painting is here.

Glen, the dark line is part of kens sculpt, it represents the round bit of her chin just under the lip....

I am finding this a very relaxing process and quite fun....

Blocked in most of the colours and starting to add some features to the clothes etc. Long way to go yet...

Mark, excellent work on the faces and nice progress, be careful though as they can become quite addictive, as I found out.:)

    Cheers Ken
