    Greetings fellow miniaturists,i have just recently finished a stormtroopers bust of major digby tatham-warter 2nd parachute battalion,this is a lovely casting in resin with 2x optional heads,either beret or bowler hat,for those of you not familiar with WW2 i thought i would give a brief description of the major.
    Major digby served with A company 2nd parachute battalion officer commanding and recieved the DSO and served with the regiment through most of its major engagements,the bust comes complete with digby's trademark umbrella which sources say he carried with him during battle,as for the bowler hat the only reference i managed to obtain was he wore a bowler during the defence of the arnhem bridge during the market-garden camaign,sources state that as Mk4 german tanks attempted to cross the bridge digby led a bayonet charge against the attack with umbrella in one hand and pistol in the other wearing a bowler hat.
    After the war in served with the 5th kings african rifles in kenya,he died in africa in 1993.
    Please find attached photo's of the compleated bust,i hope you enjoy the photo's as much as i did painting it,all comments and critisism accepted,the bust is available from el-greco miniatures and SK miniatures in the UK,the bust was completed using oils over acrylic base coats.
    Happy modeling :cool::cool:

    The brilliance of this rendering struck me like thunder.

    The efforts on the texture of fabric are not lost on me. This is something to appreciate.

    Like this very much, especially the subtle cloth texture effects. Not easy to do in oils !
