Doh! Of course. Up there for thinking aye. That's amazing speed mate. I couldn't get to state in 6 weeks. Keep it coming, loving it. Each new bust of yours tends to be my favorite but I think this one is my overall favorite.

Started braiding on the dolman from sculpey. Bottom edge of the dolman is uneven but will be covered by his barrel sash once that is added (after all frontal decoration).

Central buttons added and stripes to overalls (which may also require adjustment - amazing what you see when you take photos).

This dolman lace is dead gold per the dress regs. Finer bright Russia braid is to be added between the outer edges of each row of braid and this will be done in magic sculpt.

Tonight's status. Dolman frontal braiding and buttons done. Starting on the shoulder, side and back decoration. I need to touch up the Russia braid betwee the braids as some of the lengths are off.

I am going to put him in a full dress cartouche belt and pouch, mostly because of the sculpting challenge on the pouch decoration.

Hint. When sculpting detail in brittle sculpey, you can make it a lot stronger after baking by painting the material with clear matte varnish (in this case liquitex).

His head is not properly afixed in these shots. Just lightly pinned. So the angle and join are off.

You, my friend, have the patience of a saint... a SAINT I tell ya!!!

I can't wait to see how you attack the braid work on the back and shoulders... what with all the crazy loop-de-loos and swirly-woos. Those are the actual technical names for those elements... I read it somewhere... in a book!

    Carry on my wayward son

Dolman decoration complete. A lot of the detail will be added with paint, including the regimental lace pattern. After completion and attachment of his head, I noted that the rear collar decoration is not centred so I will have to grind that off and redo it. No biggie. There is also a bit of a space on the left side of his neck but that will look fine once I add his cartridge belt.

Also, still need to add his partial belt closure - lion head snake clasp.

Cartridge pouch done except side mounts. The VR cypher is an impression only but that is fine for an art piece. I see from the photo there are a couple of minor adjustments required to balance the cypher.

Thanks gents. His central spherical buttons were too small so I have replaced them with larger ones of Magic Sculpt.

Superbly done. Interesting to see that you have sculpted the braid. I tend to use solder wire held in place with 'superglue'.
