I am currently working on Art Girona’s Risaldar Major of Queen Victoria’ Own Corps of Guides and I need help regarding uniform detail Although a good painting guide is provided, it is not very helpful when describing the designs on the cumerbund. It is described only as a red sash decorated with designs in white, red, and blue. Not a lot of help as you can see. I have searched for uniform references and have found no descriptions of the sash and any period photos that I have found do not show any detail of the sash.
Does anybody out there have any information on the uniform of the Guides, the sash in particular? I would appreciate any feedback you can provide. Many thanks in advance.
