    Hi guys

Here are the first shots of Legolas in 54mm, from assembly through to first base coat.

He was primed with Tamiya white primer and painted in Vallejo acrylics.

The bow has been filed down to make it thinner and more realistic;) .

Hope you like. More pics to follow soon.

    Cheers

man Tony 54mm up to 350mm! That is a wide range of scales to work in. I'm even more impressed.

    Thanks guys

Rob - I've found that the key to painting different scales is "the bigger the scale, the less the contrast and shading".

I like what you've done with this Tony. It looks good.
What are your plans for the base?

As a dedicated fan of the LOTR movies:D , I can tell you Legolas, as produced by Andrea in 54mm, is depicted as he appeared on the journey from Lorien to Edoras. I had thought to display him standing high up on a mossy rock overlooking the grassy plains of Rohan, hot on the trail of Merry and Pippin and in pursuit of Saruman's Uruk-Hai.

The absence of one of Legolas' knives is a rather peculiar omission by the sculpter:( , and the thickness of the bow is ridiculous:mad: , however the face is a pretty good likeness of Orlando Bloom;) . Overall it makes a very nice companion piece to the Aragorn (The Untamed) figure released by Andrea:cool: .

The other option, (I still haven't made up my mind:confused:  ) is to place Legolas in Fangorn Forest, at the moment he senses the presence of the White Wizard:eek: . This option gives lots of possibilities for ground cover, foliage and explains why his bow is drawn and his arrow is ready to be fired:cool: .

Once I've made up my mind, I'll post another WIP update with some new pics of Legolas and the base.:) :)

    Mike,

    Honestly, none at all!

Life's too short and there are plenty of other projects waiting for me.
