That looks great. not only is the face near perfect, the hat is just incredible. This would be a fun one to paint. Very nice work so far, look forward to more progress.

Stunning sculpting Ken. Absolutely spot on as far as the likeness. You're really in the middle of a sculpting "purple patch" mate.

    Pedro, many thanks mate.

Mike, glad you like the hat, to be honest I struggled with it, perhaps it's because although it is the regular German peaked cap, it has had the metal rod removed making it look floppy. Thanks to Housecarl for that info and the figure he supplied to demonstrate.

Steve, yes he'll have the bino's , if I can work out the model , cheers matey.

Rob, many thanks, working on the torso as we speak.

Carl, best to date, cheers mate and thanks for helping out.

    Cheers Ken

    Ken,
An absolute stunner! The photo of Meyer you sculpted from was taken in either Greece or Yugoslavia in 1941, & is possibly the most well-known shot of him. In terms of background research, there's a very interesting OOP book if you can find a copy called Meeting of Generals; it's all about the parallel lives of Meyer & Major-General Harry Foster, the Canadian general who presided at Meyer's trial for war crimes. It contains some useful insights into the early lives & careers of both men, & the 1944 Normandy campaign.
2 questions: I take it Jose will be the conduit for this one, & when will you be having a go at Sepp Dietrich?:):):)
    Cheers,

Chris, many thanks and I'll lookout for that book, he's certainly an interesting guy. Yes you're correct Jose will be producing this one and in regard to Sepp Dietrich I'll put him on the list.:)(y) Cheers

    An idea!

    Ken,

in my humble point of view the "Sepp" Dietrich are one common choise:eek:. I know that your choices do not concern me, but I think it would cause a huge impact if someone could carve the bust of the infamous SS Oskar Dirlewanger commander of 36th SS Panzer division with the title "War criminal" etc... what do you think?
    Note the picture below:
    http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oskar_Dirlewanger
would be a good sculpture exercise.:)
