    Wow, ...just WOW?!?!
It is amazing how anyone can rationalize and justify this.

In any case, thank you for resurrecting this thread and bringing it to the forefront =)).

PLEASE... As the fall "modeling season" gets into full swing and we attend shows be on the lookout for signs of piracy (plain plastic bag, no label, no company logo, etc) and bring it to the attention of the show organizers. (Defeating piracy on the internet, and ebay, etc is a whole different issue.) But, as we make the rounds to the shows, there are enough of us that know and recognize legitimate figures vs recasts. ...not only Model Cellar, but all brands. I appreciate the support from EVERYONE including CGS, Mitches, Ellie's, Elan 13, Tommy's War, etc. As I said in my post above, if we look out for each other it will go a long way.

Thanks again to all the legitimate modelers out there for your support.
    best regards,
    Paul

I do not trust my eyes to read such incredible nonsense!

You do not seem to have the slightest idea of the reality of figure business.

And just because you want to buy cheap, the figurine makers should gnawing at the starvation?

With this attitude you are definitely wrong here, friend!

I recommend that you look for another forum ...!

    Dear sir,
Having read your ignorant and ill-informed opinions on here, that demonstrate a what I consider a clear and obvious support for thuggish thievery and piracy

I don't want to name the Ebayer here but he is selling a lot of recasts, so I want the real owners to know but I don't want to put his contact details here. I will list what I think the recasts are and those owners can contact me to get the name to get him off eBay. He said the figures I bought were located in the UK and said new in box but when I got them they came from China in a plain box.
Soga miniatures I know as I just got stung buying the flak 38 crew
    Evolution miniatures
    Stalingrad figures
    Live resin
    Verlinden
    Mantis miniatures
    Airborne miniatures
If you know the owners please show them this post and get them to pm me

While I am with Paul from Model Cellar who was directly affected by a fraud and obviously solved his issue by starting this thread I absolutely despise the arrogant and selfrighteous attitude shown in the recent replies to trevorkats posts.

.... he dared not to sing with the PF-chorus and questioned the arguments that repeat themselves over and over again as soon as recasts are brought up over here - a big no-no of course.
On one side we have the idealistic producer that offers his products for the mere benefit of the hobbyists and makes just enough money so that he is able to produce more kits (by outsourcing part of his production to China in some cases) - a kind of a saint.
On the other side we have the satanic recaster that lives in luxury - mostly in less developed countries - and his income just needs to be summed up and we get the exact amount of money the saints loose every day and by this the hobby will completely vanish in the near future if there weren`t the brave and restless keyboard warriors of PF - the knights of the round keyboard-table.
And I nearly forgot to mention the customers that need to be torched because without them the hobby world would be a paradise - they are the only reason for this problem
...err.... of course just the bad customers ... err the ones - you know who you are...of course not the ones that just accidentally buy this stuff and sing the PF-song.

Disclaimer: I in person absolutely agree to this picture in complete PF political correctness - it is without any reasonable doubt an exact mirror of the grim truth backed by the competent posts of valued members of PF shown in this thread and hundreds more. - Not to speak about the legal situation which is clear (and maybe frustrating) but boring in comparison to this great pirate-story.

Even when trevorkats said in the post quoted that often: "I agree pirating is not good at all" it did not stop the knights of the PF-table to show off their great attitude towards recasts by violating the rules of this forum and calling him names... and nothing happens other than that they get likes for the insults.
Obviously this forum is the right place to do so.
Here is a quote for you "dear sirs" and "friends":
"Never argue with a fool (or whatever names you gave to trevorkats) - onlookers may not be able to tell the difference"

    Guys

    Just catching up here

Recasting is a hot potato so to speak we are all in agreement that it is illegal and hurting companies badly .

EVERYONE is entitled to their thoughts and comments but keep it CIVIL in language and wording and CONSTRUCTIVE .

I have taken out certain words in threads

AGAIN I say use the PM rather than the threads word things between each other ....I don't want to spend all my time when I should be enjoying the hobby .

Mods cannot see everything and you have the option to report concerns

Let's concentrate on making it as hard as possible for these scum .

    Recasters…………..
    -doesn’t care for the hobby.
    -doesn’t produce any new subjects.
    -doesn’t support shows.
    -doesn’t attend shows.
    -doesn’t donate prices.
-doesnt take pride in what they do.
-doesn’t have the same quality as the original producer.
    -doesnt have customer service.
-doesn’t support the artist creating the subject.
    -steals someone elses intellectual property.
    -doesn’t pay tax.
    -uses boxart without permission.
-doesn’t send you the product in the pictures.
-does not only deprive the legal producer and investor of potential customers but also smears the producers name as not all buyers are aware of that they are buying a recast.

    Recasters……….
-does have a lower price for an inferior product. Sometimes its actually close to the retail price or not more than 10-15% cheaper.

Kind of easy for any person with average intellect and love for the hobby to choose, don’t you think?
    Nuff said.

    Cheers

The same over here and with no one else but I wonder if these insults would be exchanged when people would not be able to do it online but had to say it directly into the face of the other guy.

Oh yes no problem with that Martin.
I have never said, and will never say anything to another man that I cannot back up, after all the evidence was there in plain sight and I just summed it up.

If you provide any excuse, reason or validation for piracy whatseoever, you condone it, and that puts you on the side of theft fraud sculduggery, scallywagging and ne'er dowells.

There is no grey area, there is no merit in discussing
morals and what the manufacturers do 'Wrong' they are blameless, creative, and forward thinking.
it's nothibg to do with forum values holier than thou or anything else.
If you or anyone else demonstrates any support for this activity in any way I will describe you or anyone ekse in the appropriate manner.

I don't know why you continue to post about this to be
honest, I was done by posting a self explanatory comment, no idea why you want me to expand, it's not a theory that needs to be proven.

    Done and finished.

I've seen words exchanged face to face with a recaster at a show in the early 1990s. He got his stuff smashed on the floor and stamped on and then thrown out. Very amusing.
