Hi, my name's Neil and I live in Bristol, UK.

As I say in my profile:

I'm now retired so I've taken up the hobby again after a lay-off of over 40 years (other than helping my sons with Space Marines etc).

As so many, I started with Airfix 1/72nd aircraft (collection still in my parents loft) but then branched out into other types, the odd Historex kit etc. However, my main interest became converting Airfix 1/12th scale figures into Napoleonics, including my first scratchbuild, and a very ambitious project to scratchbuild a 1/12 scale mounted samurai (WiP).

That stalled 40+ years ago but I've now taken it back up alongside renovating my old Napoleonics. I may then take on further scratchbuilds (one plan is to be able to use pre-cast armour parts to build a variety of samurai).

I've never been a great figure painter and never tried a bust, but I hope to learn a lot from fellow members.

If you can't wait that long there's a show at Bovington Tank Museum in early Feb or the Poole Vikings show in early April (Both are more general model shows, but there are usually some 'figurey' types in attendance including yours truly and Nap (usually)

If you want to trek to London there's the BMSS (British Model Soldier Society) show also in April and plenty of others which usually are shown in the events Forum
