help with displaying

    hi guys
    wondered if anyone could point us in the right direction i'm in a small club and we want to buy a display stand for when we exhibit at shows but we don't know where to look can anyone help we're in the uk overseas shipping could be a bit expensive

    contact a local shopfitting company, go for a fairly sizeable one as they're most likely to skip strip out.
    Ask if the are re-fitting any shops and explain what you are after. Alternatively try local Tesco, M&S etc as they often throw out display stands.
    Usually people are keen to help.

    I found a few at yard sales/flea markets. As mentioned, leftovers from stores. Many years, I found a couple to be discarded watch displays outside a drug store (chemist, I believe, onyour side of the pond.) Finally, you can build one. Wood, styrofoam, cardboard boxes covered with a remnant of some nice material.
    This is mine: [IMG] It consist of a couple shipping boxes, a wood back drop with a dowel across the top all held togethjer with duck and maksing tape. The fabric gets draped over it at set up time.
