    Hi all!

I'm working on the box-art for this piece and thought I would post a WIP thread as it's very much my area of interest and should be a fun paint :)

The kit is 15 parts in light grey resin and cleans up with a couple of hours careful work...

I was asked to do a monochrome shot of the piece and this is how it came out. There are two heads provided obviously ;)

Once the shots were approved I decided to paint the faces simultaneously so apart from the eye colour these are painted with precisely the same palette....

And the obligatory massive blow up to show all the horrible mess ups LOL :)

Update tomorrow as I have some time off and want to get on with this beauty!!

All three C's are most welcome...

Hello Mark, I really like this piece. Both head choices are excellent but, I prefer the fur cap version. To me, it sets the atmosphere of Stalingrad very well. Will be following your progress on this one. Great start. Regards, SG(y)

Me too, I prefer the one with the fur cap, I think the face is much more realistic and it has a portrait style, the second one with the helmet representing a gesture seems a bit strange, in some way has a surprise expression. Great painting work in both.

Many thanks all for the comments :)

Worked on the coat, fur and details .... I plan on using some pigments towards the end of the paint to just dirty the coat up a bit :)

Both versions are equally nice but concerning the look in the eyes, I prefer the helmeted one. This has a very realistic pensive look.
