I just started painting the English officer by Pabelo,I have sadly temporarily benched The French trumpeter.

Please ignore the brown paint on his hand and cuff, just practicing before painting the jacket.

Pabelo Miniatures has asked me to do the box art for their latest release, I thought it would be fun to do it as a work bench project.















Jacket
1 - Base= Mars Yellow + a little Mars Brown.
2- Medium shadow = Base + a mixture of Cadmium red and black .
3- Deep shadows = Cadmium red + Black.
4- Extreme shadows= Dioxide Purple.
5- Medium highlights = base + white
6- high highlights = Medium highlight + more white.


Sash
1- Base = Cadmium red + Cadmium Yellow + a little bit of Dioxide Purple.
2- Medium Shadow = Base + more Dioxide Purple.
3- Deep Shadows = Medium shadows + more Dioxide Purple.
4- Extreme shadows = Dioxide Purple straight
5- Medium highlight = Cadmium red + Cadmium yellow.
6- High highlights = Medium highlight + more yellow.

Leather belt under the sash
1- Base = Burnt Umber
2- Medium shadows = Burnt unber +black
3- Deep shadows = Ivory Black
4- Medium highlights = Naples Yellow
5 High highlights = Medium highlights + Titanium white.

That's a choice bit of sculpting! What lovely folds and a terrific face!

And the painting ain't so bad either! Seriously Roc, it's great!

Tis not my period, historically, but I could easily be swayed by the English Civil War. I have Haythornthwaite's excellent ECW book and the illustrations by Jeffrey Burn are nothing short of magnificent.

Is the figure a Royalist cavalry officer?

What scale is this, please?

It may be the temporary mounting, but it looks like the whole figure is leaning forward - within his boots. The boots are straight up and down, but the rest of the figure is leaning forward.

i've sent to Roc all my references used during sculpting that figure. If there are no mistakes in osprey i hope so there are no mistakes in that figure.. Roc, what do You think about it?

The figure stands well I assure you, it is just the temporary mounting.
If you look a little closer You can see that there are metal rods going up his feet, the figure is hanging loose and not permanently attached.

As you can see from this picture, the figure stands well.
