    Hi Guys and Gals,

Here's my latest. The figure was given to me by John Long. I used to think he was a friend.:)

The figure is painted in acrylics. I was ready to finish this one.

    All comments welcome.

    Thanks,

Well done Mike! What a point on that arrow! The dude must be hunting semi trucks or something.

Mike, that looks great. You painted that quickly. Did you strip it completely down? Was it a pain in arse to put together? It looked like it was gonna be to me. :);)

    Hi John,

I stripped it down a couple of times. I'm still not really happy with the way it tuned out. The face is awesome, really well sculpted. The fitment of the Armor was very difficult and required lots of pining and had to paint and assemble in stages. It was definitely a challenge.

I think he looks pretty good. The the only thing I see is you probably got bored with all the patterns on him and just got a little loose on it to hurry and be done with him. I love samurai armor but have never painted one because of the complexity of it. I think you can still be proud of this figure.

    Hi Mike,

No kidding, I was tired of this guy. I did get lazy on the pattern. When looking at the photos I see where the helmet pattern needs to be redone completely, it’s just too sloppy. I could have better control of the inner pattern on the chest pattern, particularly the size and shape of the red and yellow pattern inside of the diamonds. A few other areas I’ve noticed as well. Definitely not something I will enter into competition.

    Thanks for the honest assessment.

    I like him. Very colorful.
I have this one in my gray army, where he'll probably stay for a while longer.
