Guy - after missing '08 Tulsa, I definitely plan to make '09 Tulsa and will bring this one along.

Dee - Atlanta is "iffy" but I'd like to make it.

Paul - the crest of the helmet is just black, drybrushed with black + warm colors such as brown, red leather, and some yellows (yes, you can drybrush with acrylics - not as easy as with oils, but can be done). Since taking the photos at the beginning of this post, I have washed the crest with a thin veil of black, making it look much better. This toned down the drybrushed highlights and unified everything. For the metal, I used a product called Rub n Buff, available at craft stores such as Michaels here in the US. This can be thinned with mineral spirits and brushed on. They have several shades of gold available and I used "Antique Gold." I shaded with Raw Umber/Sepia. As you know, I used oils for the leopard skin on Murat, but I decided to try my hand at a leopard skin using acrylics this time. My palette consisted of White, Desert Yellow, Ochre Brown, Red Leather and German Camo Black Brown. The spots are black + red leather. The area inside the spots is just a darker, more orange version of the base color (more red leather and GCBB).
