Equipment 1901 Naval Leather and Web Field Equipment

    To the best of my knowledge, the Royal Navy went to war with this equipment, replacing it when it became available with either 1908 web equipment or 1914 leather equipment for their sentries, shore parties and naval infantry. Various other pieces of equipment and weapons not belonging to the 1901 field equipment set are shown for continuity - they were in use when the 1901 equipment was in use. The 1901 bandoleer was used with the Short Magazine Lee Enfield (SMLE) rifle; the ammo containers held five round stripper clips used in the SMLE. (See the photo Mk2 with rounds and clip.)
