Verlinden's 120mm figure of a Scots Grey, 1815. Apart from a couple of replacements for damaged parts, more or less as out of the box.

PS The first set of pictures have now been replaced with some taken in better light.

An 'oldie but a goodie' figure and VERY nicely painted with a realistic finish.

The red and yellow is really handled well.

Verlinden should have made you the boxart painter and would have sold off many more of these kits.

Martin,....I was thinking and almost posted the exact same thing. It's really a great example of what can be accomplished by good painting of an average figure

    Morning Peter

Lovely work on very difficult colours, red, yellow and white!

I tried and couldn't manage it at all, well done.

A good colour palette too, overall as already said a good result on a basic sculpt, very Verlinden in the USA.

Have a good weekend with your next victim

    Regards

Warren - Thank you. I picked this one up at a reasonable price on eBay. Also got hold of a Roman centurion, which will be next.

Martin and Steve - Very kind words, thank you. Actually I think Verlinden's work suffers from poor photography. Australian seller BNA Modelworld on eBay often shows close-ups of the box art and it is usually very good indeed.

Steve H - Morning. Yes, nightmare colours, and I've never found the Scots Grey uniform particularly attractive - the yellow looks a bit cheap somehow. I've been sorting through the box of busts forming a plan of attack, but I need some more painting practice on a couple of full figures before I begin, which will probably be in the new year. Hope that's OK.

I like the face on this one, definitely one of Verlinden's better sculpts imo.

Many thanks Steve. I'm working on one of Verlinden's Roman centurions at the moment and it's a shocker.....

    Morning Peter

    Plan of attack sound serious

    You'll need more paints too?

2022 sounds like a good plan and hopefully the centurion can be beaten in to submission along the way.

Just let me know if you need anything, and enjoy the journey.

    Regards

    Andy - Many thanks.

Steve - Glad you approve. I do need to look at the paint situation as it's mostly geared towards the field grey end of things at the moment.
