Hello, everyone! I thought I'd post a quick pic of my current project. What you see here is mostly done. The boots are only undercoated and I'm going to do some more highlighting on the fur trim. Also, the stirrups and medal on his chest are not painted. The pic is not the best but will have to do (until I figure out how to make them better). This is my first mounted figure. It's one of the funnest (?) figures I've painted and I'm happy with how he's turning out. The quality of the kit is absolutely top-shelf. More to come in the future!

    Jason,

Looking forward to seeing this one when you're done. I just ordered my first mounted kit recently. Maybe I'll even get to paint it soon!

I'm sure yours will be nice. Are you planning to paint the horse in oils or acrylics?

Great start ! This is the best of the recent Metal Models mounted kits IMO.

Are you doing the gold in metallic paints or glazes of yellow/white/brown oils ?

Thank you very much for your encouraging comments!
Guy - This is a 54mm Metal Models kit.
Matt - I will paint the horse in oils, probably the leopard skin as well. I plan to paint it as a dark bay like the box art. BTW, which mounted kit did you order?
RFL - Thanks, and I agree this is by far one of their best. Ref. the gold, it is done with acrylics, using combinations of yellows, browns, oranges, and black. No metallic paint is used. The photo is not very good, I think the gold and the green look much better in person.
Stephen - No MFCA for me this year.
Marc - Thanks! Ref. the gold, see my response to RFL.

Sweet man!! Just remember...dont let all the feelings which been couped up for so long out on the first victim, better to spread it out and share the love of a cop back on the road after too long doing something else!
