I like the Grenadier for a 1/9 figure, but that's just me. While Tamiya's 1/16 OIF figure may look the same, the truth is the Tamiya figure has legs bent at the knees. The Warrior Grenadier has the more accurate "straight leg" stance.

Is it me or is the furthest guys right arm look in an awkward position to fire that weapon. The guy with just tha assault rifle no grenade launcher under it.

Yes, he's very cramped, is he made to fit in a vehicle hatch.

He is in a close combat fighting stance (elbow down). Taught for fighting from a vehicle (AAVP7, Truck bed etc.), but also used when dismounted.

OK I can see that but in my opinion picky as it is , any recoil would loose that weap off that shoulder.

Can you guys try making a NVG helmet clip for your next set of 1/35 OIF figures ? I think that'll be a 1/35 "first" although BLAST Models may've been the first.

Of course the trick is to make all NVG clips look the same size on every helmet.

I greatly welcome the new Modern figures, but I would like to see them with more updated rifles and helmets. Majority of the Marines in OIF are now using M16A3's
and MICH helmets. ACOG and Aimpoint Scopes would also be nice, as well AN/PEQ's and rifles with RIS units on them.
Even with all the above mentioned, I still plan to pick up these new releases!

Thanks for the input, it is welcome. It is interesting that with the OIF deployment now in the 2nd year, the amount of uniforms and equipment that has changed in that short span of time is enormous.

We plan on doing several more USMC sets that will encompass the early desert BDU's with MOPP suits with the earlier MOLLEE gear.

Then we see the desert BDU's minus the MOPP gear. Next was what our 2 latest figure sets are based on. The digital (desert) cammies and woodland web stuff with M16A2's.

Most of the changes that you mention are pretty simple for the modeler to incorporate. The M16A3 is still not in wide use by the Marines, and the difference's are almost unnoticeable in 1/35 scale.

I too welcome the modern figures.

Instead of more modern gear, I would like to see new variations. Check the references I emailed David Harper on. They show 1:1 mockups no one made yet.

I really like the four latest Warrior OIF figures, but I must say I kind of kitbashed DML Modern Marines to look similar to them a while back because I didn't think anyone would make modern U.S. figures. Meaning, DML's Modern Marines have "captured" that look and that time already. The neat thing about Warriors's OIF offerings is that they're the first fire team that all have a similar pose and mission---too shoot. HobbyFan's were only pairs. As such, I'm still waiting for more unique figures that ____cannot be____kitbashed from modern DML stock. Example: some Marine snipers wear "Artkis-like" vests, or Force Recon with vest pouches, web belt pouches and pouches on the back of the vest for flashbangs, or no helmet or hat SFer in the jungle. Don't forget Philippines or the War on Drugs since that'll give you Woodland BDU options.

SPEAR, FSBE, helo pilot, Close Combat, and Ranger RACK vests still have yet to be produced in 1/35 as are figures with NVGs and operating at night.

Currently, 1/35 modern U.S. figures still operate in the daytime and conventionally. 1/35 Special Forces still date to 1996 DML Rangers although Think-180 put us in Afghanistan, but not with "typical" SPEAR vests or MICH helmets or unique guns.

As always, refer to Hot Toys, Elite Force, DML, and BBI 1/6 action dolls for ideas. Those dolls are pretty accurate-looking and never copied in plastic or resin.

These modern OEF and OIF resin figures are a start, but as always, the door has just opened . Keep up the great work and remember, no one made so many modern figures since the last DML SEAL and SF figures in 1996 and Modern Marines in 2003 (and Think 180's in 2005). If you guys don't make it, probably no one will...eight years since 1996...and that is my strongest advice; if you guys don't make it, most likely no one ever will and there's already eight years of past proof to back that saying up. Advance ahead, leave the Dragon ATGMs, PAGST body armor, non-SINCGARS radios, M-60s, and LAWs behind. These older weapons may be great for future weapons sets, but figures and weapons need to advance now that the door to make them is open. Who knows why or when that door may close.

why just marines what happen to the us army and national guard well!

Most all of the modern American figures available already are of U.S. Army. We wanted to offer the modeler something that was not available already. Also, we have a lot more reference in our library for Marines, and many Marine friends and contacts who spurred us on.

The USMC is a favorite subject of both mine and Bills, my father was a Marine in WWII Pacific and Korea.

We do plan on doing some OIF Army figures in the near future.

What I WOULD like to see are figures with the M24O MG. Too many with the M249.
The only set that has it is the one from Dragon, and to buy the set just for that!? Ayyy! I guess I could always cast some.
I'm glad that the new Warrior figs are wearing MARPATS. I could always scratch that in, but it's nice to see the Big Guys pay attention to the little details.
I just checked out the Modern figs from VP, and although nice, I think they still
come with the M16A1 as did most of the DS figs did.

Not to sound prude or harsh, but Think 180 has a new OIF figure on Colorado Miniature's home page.

That OIF figure has a M-16A4, A4 because the barrel handgrips have rails. A3 is only the rail on top of the receiver.

In 1/35, the A4 sure looks a lot different than the M-16A2. As such, one CAN see the differences between M-16A2, A3, and A4. ! Those A4 rails sure look neat, and one can't mistake that rifle for a M-16A2.

Again, not to be a spoil-sport, but I think the difference in appearances is fairly obvious, even for a 1.35 gun. After all, didn't Chris Mrosko at VLS paint the Think 180 M-16A4? I think Chris obviously knows that he wasn't painting a M-16A2 .

Think 180 made 1/35 history with that M-16A4. This is what Warriors needs to do too---push the envelope.

I know rifle night sights haven't been made yet...

Oh, and how can I tell the M-16A4 from the M-16A2? Any M-16 with rails on the barrel handgrips has holes on the top sides of the handgrip. You can see these holes above the side rails and flanking the top barrel rail. Jeff Meckley made his M-16A4 correctly.

Actually, that Think 180 figure has a M-4 with rails, not a M-16A2. The buttstock is a M-4's.

I went ahead and just modded a couple of Car-15's and A2's into the A3 and A4's
and M4's w/ ACOGs and VLTOR and Crane stocks. Nothing hard, just time consuming.
