    Hi All,
    I thought I would share my progress to date and this huge project. I always intended to do this after buying a Rorke's Drift set off Gordon. Well it went one step further and bought the rights and masters from Gordon, thank you my friend.

    So now owning the above I wanted to create a set of married Zulu warriors attacking the barricade, so the planning immediately started probably 16 months ago.
    In this hobby of ours you make a lot of friends and the support I have had from these friends to achieve this has been second to none. So this is not just me it is a combined effort from me and my good friends;
    Tommi Worton, Steve Readdie and Robert Lane. I would also like to thank Richard at Oakwood, Vince and Aleksey. All have contributed to this project massively, with sculpts, 3d sculpts, masters and equipment.

    Most importantly I would like to thank my wife Christine who has always given me 100% support. She has given me the time and pushed me to sculpt virtually evey single day.

    Also a special mention to Solomon Burke whose tracks in the background have kept me sane.

    There is a big unbalance in the modelling world when it comes to Zulu's especially in 54mm so I decided to make a set of 24 for this project. I'm talking about model kits and not the toy soldier variety.

    The placement will be a lot tighter when the goundwork is done and I'm not trying to hold them all up with blue-tack. Still a long way to go but something significant to show you.
    cheers

    When this is completed Richie, this should be in a museum for all to see.

    Adding Zulus is awesome project Richie. I have the entire 24th set from Gordon and I have always thought Zulus were needed. I would need a separate case to display it with Zulus added. My wife is my biggest supporter, but I don't think she'd go for it. I can dream though.

    Truly Amazing work. I can hear Bromhead in the background yelling "hold them" "hold them". I agree with the others this is a museum piece to be seen by all. Regards, Brock

    Hi All,
    Thank you Paul, Gary, Eric, Daniel, Edward, Steve, Michael, Matthew, Aris, Mike, Brock, Renato & Scotty. I really appreciate your comments and support, I would like to think that one day my entire collection of Zulu war figures would have a place in the Brecon museum to inspire future generations of model makers.

    Gordon mate, I cannot thank you enough for passing on the Rorke's Drift scene to me, you know it has gone to a good home.

    Steve mate, thank you for your continued help, guidance and support over many years. Your master weapons are just superb craftsmanship and the Enfield musket gives me another dimension for some of the Zulu warriors.

    Probably the next update will be when all the figures and groundwork are done.
