Thanks Daniel my friend. The surcoat heraldry is a rampant black lion, the shield is the difficult part. It will have 3 passant lions with fish tails, all this will be totally freehand ! Hardy

    G'day Hardy,

Love your work mate. The free-drawn lions on the shield sound awesome. I'm eagerly awaiting your next installment.

It is just wonderful, Hardy. How do you paint the heraldy? do you paint it directly on the figure,or you prepare some kind of stencil, or you just prepaint it with the pencil or first neutral colour? which is the best way to paint the heraldy?
    best regards

Hi Robert. I always sketch out the heraldry first in acrylic, then shade/highlight and detail in oils. What im trying to do with this is make it look like its sewn on rather than sprayed on.
You have to go with what you are most comfortable with,I prefer to paint it all myself as it means its all my own work and not someone elses. Hardy

Thanks for the answer. I do it nearly the same way, but I sketch it first with soft pencil, if my hand goes wrong,I use rubber to fix it. than I paint with acrylics and shade with oils. It is also mine opinion, that handwork is most satisfying by a painter on heraldy. Detail in the kind of sewn on is a perfect touch in your perfect painting. You must have the hell steady hand by painting this. I whish you a lot of fine figure, my friend. I am hungry for next pics:D
