A secomd layer of Sculpey needs to be added. After brushing on a light coat of Diluent I then place a piece of Sculpey that will form the back half of the neck.

Another piece is added to the front. Some of the excess is trimmed from the piece.

After both pieces are smoothed together I note where some of the neck muscles wil be located. Though I plan on removing some of the material once I start to work in the musculature I decided to add a bit more to the jawline of the head.

Here you can see how the face has been altered with the addition of a little more material. I still need to work with it a bit, so the face is still not 100% done. I also had to fill out the right side of the torso.

Jeff and John, Thanks I appreciate it. I'm sure there are some sections that could have benefit from a little more detail, though I hope the most important parts show enough.~Gary

Here the diagonal lines that represent the sternomastoid which is a fairly prominant muscle of the neck. I have removed enough material to make it noticable.

Here I have cleaned up the base of the neck and I have made a separation line showing how the head will be placed on the body. I may add a few lines of detail to the neck, but for the most part it will be covered by the shirt and jacket collars.

Gary, did you just cut with a knife or did you do the string cut trick?

Francesca, No, I just cut it with a fresh X-acto blade. I do like the string idea though, never thought to do that.~Gary

I saw the guys who work large scale do it with "invisible thread"... Your cut looked so clean that I thought maybe you had as well (except you didn't mention it and I was pretty sure you would have at least made reference to it if you had!).
