    Hi all,
a little muse with putty along side of my other bust of staffs 80th,that is still on going and I will update soon,as for this I was thinking captin Ahabe all the normal cleshe',but I was looking for a face thats weather beaten, the kind you my find on a local park bench with a miss placed look about him.
The Royal Navy of the Victorian period.......
This is what I came up with.

    Hi Paul,

I like the look of this. You seem to have captured the look of lower decks. Have you read Brian Lavery's Royal Tars? While it ends in 1850 it gives a real flavour for what these men went through.

This is the kind of thing that would temporarily tempt me away from flats, love the comment about weather beaten, park bench and misplaced, sums up matelots in a nutshell and it looks ike you've captured the look excellently. (y)

    Hi All,
some extras added to the bust, the picture says it all realy,
still heaps to do,cutting the shape of the chest area after filling out with putty, the Victorian sailors jerkin has a fair bit more flow to the cloth than those from the 1900's,the worry is that it'll look like a head on a southern belle's gown.
