Just finished this up over the weekend. I am unhappy that the reds don't show up as velvety in the pictures as in person. This is from the Andrea line and they call it 70mm series. It is a very nice figure. I have him mounted on a Hussar turned base. I sculpted some rocks to hang a little off the base to add interest. As always all comments are welcome and thanks for looking.

    Eeeerrr...

Pardon my ignorance... I've search the net and come to know that Robert the Bruce heraldic surcoat Mike,

I understand that Robert the Bruce is surcoat contain a red lion on yellow background.... but u've painted the figure with white lion on red...

Anyway, I'm no expert and could be wrong.... any expert to clarify this?

CPTan, nice! you are correct. He wore yellow with a red lion. I have three reasons why I chose this color combo. (a) I put a modern twist on it and gave him his home colors (in american football the home team wears dark/colored jersey's) (secondly) the last knight I did was the exact color combo of one said Robert the Bruce's yellow tunic with red lion and I didn't want to repeat two figures in a row with the same look. (c) I love how this red looks and couldn't wait to use it again. Now if I had planned properly I wouldn't have used yellow on the last figure but I couldn't use red because the knight before him was red, plus I had never used yellow for a tunic before. I could add a fourth about not wanting to duplicate the box art but three seemed enough in my mind to skew history a tad bit. I really enjoy the history aspect of these figures a lot but like painting them way more than just the research. It is cool that someone knows enough about the colors to point them out and I appreciate the love of history you have. I am also glad you liked him, maybe I should re-name him Steve.

    Very Nice Robert, there Mike

    Hi Mike:

Very nice photos of a well done figure. Finally, a figure that was released
some time back. . . drum roll please. . . and I DO remember it. I also
like the way you've arranged the terrain; and how the grasses sit among
    the rocks. Looks very natural.

Well done all around. And I was also impressed with the way you painted
the "inside" of the shield, the wood showing part against his bodd deee.

    Congrats,

    Jayhawker

    Hi! Mike.
    Wonderful red.
The crest is also very wonderful.
I also liked the feel of a material of the metal very much.
    Great work!
    I congratulate completion.

    Excellent work Mike.
If you change the name in McNamarra you have the heraldy right.
