    Hello;

    I haven't been able to post anything of my own on here for a few months because my camera crapped out in August. Thankfully, I received a new one for my birthday in October and just figured out the macro-close up function, so here we are.

    You may recognize this as the Tommy's War release of a member of Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. I have chosen to portray him as just about to embark from Canada to England, so I sculpted the duffle bag and street scene. This little guy has traveled a bit as well, having made the trip to Chicago for the MMSI show all by himself ( I couldn't go, so he went with a friend) and he brought back a silver medal as a souvenir. I can't say enough about the quality of these figures. The casting, subject matter and attention to detail simply has no peer in the hobby. As an example, note that the rifle provided is the Ross Rifle, used almost exclusively by the C.E.F. in the first few months of the war. It would have been easy to substitute the more popular Lee Enfield, but they got it right and provided a Ross. That's why I love this line of figures. Hopefully, the newest release of the artillery diorama (I think you know which one I mean) arrives soon! In the mean time, let me know what you think, and as always thanks for having a look.

    Cheers;

    Really nice idea Glenn. I think the figure's stance works really well for the scene you gave come up with. Excellent painting too. Plus he got to see the other work in Chicago while you didn't:)

    And he hasn't said a word about it either! Clearly I'll have to go with him to the next show. Thanks for commenting Colin.

    Glenn,

    Well done. Did you modify the figure as such? Looks somehow different from the published pictures.

    I am thinking to get one myself and convert it to the 22nd Infantry Bataillon.

    Cheers,

    Patrick

    Hi Patrick and thanks. To answer your question; no, this is pretty much straight out of the box, although I did add the dufflebag and made the street out of plaster. The cigarette was added as well, but given the general pose of the figure, I believe he was meant to have one from the start.

    Very cool! Excellent paint job on a fantastic figure. Great idea on the scene too. The anticipation for the up coming "adventure" (The attitude of young Canadian volunteers... until they got there, anyway) is evident in the figure.

    Well done. Nice tribute to the PPCLI

    Great rendition of a great figure and nicely sculpted bag.
    Received my copy of the Artillery diorama you mentioned last week and you won't be disappointed .

    PS...he'd look a bit strange without the ciggie..added one to the Tommys war fusiliers Sargent and it just adds to the character

    Thanks John, no worse for wear that's for sure. He's safe in the display cabinet now though.
