I finally got around to applying paint to a figure. This is the largest expanse of flesh I,ve ever painted as most of my figures are wearing some sort of uniform. It has it's problems, but I think I will attempt it differently next time. have plans for a more elaborate border to the tunic.

    John,

I am glad to see it with some paint! I just have to say it is looking stunning! (y) Please share with us how you went about painting your flesh, if you not mind.

    Hey John!

He's is looking great!! , the way you painted the skin really brings attention to it, and creates a lot of interest. What kind of design do you have in mind?

Thanks for the comments. I'm not overly satisfied with the flesh treatment. I am happy with the overall color, but, it got a little muddied in the blended areas. I'll do things differently in the future. I used some pretty strong colors in my mix.

Base: Jaune brilliant, Indian red, Raw sienna, Titanium white

    Shadows: Mars brown, Burnt umber

    Highlights: Base + Titanium white

    Deep shadows: Burnt umber, Sepia

High highlights: More titanium white added to base & a tiny bit of liquin

Superb, I love the way you have painted the two skintones in different colours. Just one pitty: that it won't be available for us poor souls who can't sculpt if our lives depended on it.

    GREAT WORK,

John, Perseus is looking really good. What colors do you intend to use to paint Medusa's head with?~Gary

I agree with Gino, John.....what a pity we won't be able to paint this one too. You have done a superb job on this figure. (y)

The colors for Medusa are up in the air right now. I know she'll have green hair, and snakes. I'm thinking of going with a greenish gray for the base coat.

You've been watching that movie with Harry Hamlin too much :) Will we get to see this piece in Atlanta? It's looking really good.

"The Clash of the Titans" was a bigger influence than I thought. I should have it in Atlanta. It's done, I just have to put a base under it. I'm not really that happy with how it turned out, but it doesn't warrant a redo.

    Hey John,

Sorry I'm late on this, but your figure does look very good! Great flesh tones and I love the pose and facial expression. (y)

I started a figure some time ago with the same basic concept/pose but it is David holding up Goliath's head. Maybe some day I'll get back to it....

Again great job. I'll be looking for it in Atlanta.
