A little surprise for Roger, when he will be back in some days.

I have started with our project "Wisseler". We decided to show Wisseler walking down a street with a sign in the background "Closterdale". He has one hand in his trouser pocket and is bareheaded.

I took a head and one hand from a figure of Jon Smith, so the scale is 120mm.

But have a look. It is not ready, but you can see the first details.

@ Dan. It makes a lot of fun.

@ Patrick. I have try to get in contact with some people with the surname "Wisseler" in the surrounding of Frankfurt, but get until today no answer. So, I have no more information about Wisseler.

Here some new pcitures from my figure. It is not ready, but you can see, that is something new. I think I have to change the backside of the figure on one side and must build up the jacket at the end. But have a look

I have got contact to a family called Wisseler. They are not related with "our" Wisseler, but they have a "Family-Meeting" with many other families named "Wisseler" next month and there they will try to find a relative from our Oberleutnant.

Ready. I have finshed my figure yesterday and think, I will send it now to Roger for painting. I have had some problems with the jacket part, where the hand is in the trouser pocket, but I think it is ok now. Not perfect, but I like it.

    But here the photos

Ulrich: This is looking just terrific, pal!!!! I'm curious - are you more of a carver vs. a putty - pusher? Equal amounts of both? ?? Just curious about you working techniques - you seem to approach the subject differently than me and I'd love to know more about your work methods.

    All the best,
    Dan

Hi Seb, I'm looking forward to it. I already enjoy painting the joint projects I do with Dan and it will be a pleasure to work with Ulrich also.

Good and (perhaps) very bad news.

Roger and I will get two original pictures of our Oberleutnant Wisseler. I have found descendants of Ludwig Wisseler and will get two pictures. I hope that I can show these here, when I be back from holidays

And now the very bad news. Roger had sent the parcel with the painted "Wisseler" before over three weeks and nothing arrived here. From germany to england the post needed three days. I fear that the parcel is vanished. It is bad for Roger and me, but Sh.. still happens.

But perhaps we can see on the photos that Wisseler looks very quite different and so I had to do my work again.

OH NO! That's terrible! I'm really sorry to hear that, Ulrich! Maybe the post office will come through in the end. I had a book sent to me by a friend in Belgium. It took over 3 months extra. 2 months sitting in the dead letter box at my local post office about 15 blocks from here!!!! The postmaster said they couldn't read my friends' European block numerals - WHAT??? I admit they were a bit different and whatever, but I had no trouble at all! Yet another example of sh*t happening!!! :)

    All the best,
    Dan

This is very disapointing. I sent the parcel on 30th May. The Post Office say they can only track it until it leaves the UK. At the moment It has been impossible to get hold of the people by phone who can provide this information.
    Lets hope it arrives soon.

    Roger
