Just finished this beautifully sculpted figure by Jesus Martin from Nocturna.Next project will probably be a bust as my old eyes are knackered.

Had the pleasure of seeing this in the 'flesh' last week.
Believe me the photo does not do this figure justice.....it's a masterclass in painting a figure using a 'cold' palette.
Although Brian won't be at Euro this year this amongst his other recent work will be.
    Cheers

Very nice Brian. I like your painting style.

BTW. Anyone know what is going on with Historic Art Miniatures? The website has been shut down. There was no update before that and no new releases since many moths. It would be a shame if they are out of the business. One of my favourite manufacturers.

Click on Nocturna and you'll see their new site.I ordered Merlin directly from them with no problems. They are about to release a couple of new figures soon.

    Hi Brian!

Very nice work here! I think you did it well in this difficult miniature (I know, I've my copy :) ) Just look strange the eyes, but it could by by the picture (too far I guess) would be possible a near one?

Just two offtopic dots: Jesús Martín is the Nocturna's owner and the main painter, but not the sculptor. In this time, Merlin was sculpted by Pedro Fernandez. The sculptor of other amazing pieces and personal friend ;)
And Historic Art has change its name. Now is Nocturna Models, again. And its new site is: http://nocturnamodels.com/ here you could see their new proyect inspired in the Luis Royo's work and sculpted by Pedro Fernandez ;)

    Cheers!

My mistake Alex in not knowing that Pedro was the sculptor.I reckon the eyes are o.k. but i'm going to check them out as sometimes it takes someone else to spot something that i may have missed.
I'll try closer pictures but i'm not too good at photography.
