Brian, something just occurred to me, when you're shaping the bicorne with file and sanding, wrap the head area in plenty if masking tape just to make sure to avoid accidents. Looking good.
    Best wishes, Gary.

This group convincingly captures the desperation of the grognards and I think it’s absolutely fantastic, Brian. Congratulations. Looking forward to seeing it painted.

It's going great, Brian, and plain to see there's a lot of emotive feeling for the subject. I, too, am waiting to see the finished piece; I have a feeling it will be a stunner!(y)
    So no pressure,then!

    Cheers, Alan

    Hi Brian ,

    To quote Mr Paul .......

"I agree with every positive word.

It's a marvellous concept, beautifully executed in matching different sculpts together into a harmonius group.

    I abso-flippin-lootly love it. "

It's blooming rather fab mate ..are you giving any of them rank or service cheverons ?......

    Or a baynot?

    Love the one with bicorne

Bring those brushes out young man....the sooner you do the sooner I finish picking my jaw off the ground

    Happy or what

I like the 'tightness' of the composition Brian.
The colours remain the focus without being isolated in the group.
The viewer is left to imagine what each member of the group is looking at, for me this is the mastery of a good action composition, the 'story' extends beyond the confines of the base.
Big challenge coming up is each figures line of sight, if anyone can pull it off at this scale it's youself mate (y)

Hi Brian just wanted to ask the base will you be using one with a slight incline to give some height difference to the bust? just a thought.

    Cheers

The only point with a raised base is that some of the figures will dominate others and by doing so take the eye away from the whole. The lovely thing that I like is the tight collectiveness of the group, as they stand close to each other in a protective defence of the Colour. Just my thought as I see it, but however this will look superb.
