Having already started my coldstream guard I'm now going to start a project based on the KGL who fought at waterloo and particularly at La Haye Sante where they showed great courage and gallantry against superior odds to defend the farm house at all costs and hold wellingtons centre for most of the day, only late in the day did the farm house fall into French hands.
For this piece I'm using the excellent bust from Stu at Stormtroopers,I just love the action pose on this that Carl Reid has created depicting part of the fierce struggle that day.
I do plan a backdrop for this which I'm currently working on,it was always my intension to do this piece to sit alongside my coldstream guardsman.
I will post more work in progress on this one shortly, tyhe details of the kit I have listed below.

Hello Brian. I too have this one on my table to paint. However, the pose has so much action and feeling, I felt that he needed to be displayed differently than just attaching him to the plinth and then to a base. So when I saw your Hougomont display, I decided to do something similar for my 5th KGL bust at La Haye Sainte. I am currently doing my research on the farm. Never having built any structures from scratch before, I am in new territory and feeling out of my comfort zone. One learns not only by trying, but by learning from others, so I will be following your progress with great interest.

There was an SBS on you tube, I believe. making brick work with cork tiles and cutting them into brick shapes.
I will try to find it again.
