I have just painted the carved horse head.

    No wait!

Not painted, but I have tormented me ...:

Thanks, Martin! I didn't know if the original Knauf was ivory or wood. I cheat for mine, I use Testor's gloss enamel Cream :D (it also doubles as flesh and buff on my 54mm toy soldiers).

I like how your Miliput-Zopf came out, too. I would have tried fine wire, but that would have been too rigid and it couldn't have been shaped so nicely.

    Prost!

So - I started today to paint the pistol- annew as "iron" / "steel", for I think, that will look better at the bust.

I started to paint - and then quickly stopped.

Indeed, when, if not now, is the opportunity to change a few things at the pistol, which I would rather different!

So I thought I'd take the gun lock again with a little sculpting:

Two screws on the lock plate were modeled, a third (in the back) added.

Screwing the valve was re-done, as well as the shock spring.

Finally, I have the "battery" up-fed (the grater plate for the flint) a little more, which was too thin, which is hard to see from the pictures.

    Long story short ...:

That's good thinking to add all those details Martin. In particular since the pistol is right up front for all to see. It will definitely add to the 'Oh wow!' factor. :wideyed: (y)

    Back to the Nagaika-whip!

I have painted the leather parts - the handle loop and the small fringes under the handle.

Then got my "ivory handle" even with a coating with...

Now it looks like that - the "polished ivory" is quite realistic, I think..:
