Custom made copper and steel banner, sword blade and base.

Henry VII of Luxembourg was Holy Roman Emperor at the beginning of the 14th century.
I have depicted him during his campaign in Italy. His opponent was Robert of Anjou from the Capetian House of Anjou. He was King of Naples, titular King of jerusalem and Count of Provence and Forcalquier (his armoiries are reprensented on the shield laying on the ground).

A really fun figure to paint !

Well done Alex! I notice that you have really brought out the textures in your painting. Is this a new approach for you? The results I think speak glowingly for themselves.

    Thank you everyone...
It was a long picture to paint.. not because it took that much time but because last summer I played too much football with my friends in our over 40 league.. Now that we can't play anymore, I'm back to painting more :)
It is true that I have added more 'weathering' to this figure than any other I did in the past... I played a lot with various inks to bring out the beauty of the metals as much as I could. Also I do not like the 'airbrush' look and I like to see my paint strokes.. Besides that I have invested in a new way to photograph my figures. Before I was only using my ceilings lights to take some pictures. Mind you, my fluorescent are excellent with a CRI over 95 but they are not adequate to bring out the shape and features of my figures. So here is my new setup in pictures. Cost me less than 100$ in total..

Those brush strokes amplify the depth incredibly well, I like it! The intricate detail all over this is just amazing, Alex.

Nice photo bench, btw, mine is very similar.

Thanks for the pic of your photo set up. Mine is similar, but the third lamp as back light is a good idea. I am using a small one in the back, behind the figure mount, shining upwards, but it prevents bending the background. Will try this.
