    Hello,

My name is Harry and I'm returning to the world of miniature figures after a hiatus of many years.

My first attempts, back in the old days, consisted of painting the old Airfix polythene 1/32nd scale toy soldiers in Humbrol enamels, after which I moved onto creating figures out of Airfix "multipose" parts and eventually graduated onto scratchbuilding.

I'd like now to jump right back into scratchbuilding, rather than painting commercial castings. All of the work showcased here is a great inspiration and it seems a friendly and useful forum.

I am interested in all historical periods, with perhaps some emphasis on the ancient world and modern British and commonwealth military figures.

Right now I'm trying to think of a starter scratchbuilding project that'll offer some challenge but not be too much for a beginner (or if not a total beginner then at least someone whose sculpting skills are very "rusty" - not that they were especially "well-oiled" to start with).
