Slowly but surely I'm progressing on this kit. Here's a photo to show how it's coming along. LOTS of fine tuning to be done and nothing is what I would call "finished." The saddle is still just primer, the armor is only undercoated black, and I plan to weather the bottom portion of the caparison pretty heavily. The dark grey area on the horses neck is a shadow area which will be covered by the reins. My goal is to have this one done by the Chicago show. More updates will follow - thanks for looking.

    Hi Jeff,

The paint job on the caparison is superb. And you're right to weather it heavily at the bottom. In real life it would be filthy like the mud guards on a 4X4. If the rest of this figure is as good (which I have no doubt it will) then this will blow them all away at Chicago.

    Thanks for the comments guys!

Here's a shot of the other side. Again, everything is still pretty rough and the dark grey area on the horses neck is a shadow area which will be covered by the reins.

    This looks great!

For my education: What's the next step with the black-undercoated metal parts?

Thank you Marcel, Adrian and David!

Adrian - regarding the armor, my next step is to paint it with Humbrol Metalcote and then buff it to a nice finish.
