Hi Planeteers,
Here under you will find some pics of a new figure of mine, it depicts a soldier of the 1st AirCav in vietnam war.
The scale is 1:35 and is made from spare parts pieces (masterbox, hobbyfan, hornet head and glasses from Bravo 6) and some sculpt job with milliput. I hope you will appreciate. Comments welcome

Looks good... With the glasses, he reminds me of "Pvt Cowboy" from the movie "Full Metal Jacket"

first: nice avatar, one of my favorite games and characters .

Very nice conversion from the original Hobby-Fan Figure. I personelly had used the complete Original Figure because the pose is the same and the Detail of this Figure is already very good. Otherwise you have done a very good carveing job on the MB legs folds. Your sculpting work is good too but i would make the left pocket (front view) of the Uniform shirt wider. Your Detail work at the grenades and butt pack is very nice too and added realism. I also would change the bayonet from MB and would use the Original Hobb Fan one. It´s much better in scale and Detail. You work with that hornet head is great and with that glases it gives even more character. For the glases i would also use an aftermarket product (don´t know the name right know) which has a milky color and consistence like white wood glue. After it is completly air hardned the white color change to transparent and it really looks like real glases.

BTW: At your homepage i have seen your awsome done Delta Force Figure conversion. Really a masterpiece.

thanks for your comment but for the pocket i will try to do change and for the bayonet i think the one of hobby fan seems too thin for me so i am going to work again on the present one from MB and last for glasses i am going to try with a thin transparent sheet foil like those one on candies do you know what I mean

This dude looks great! One thing that I noticed straight away is that the 1st Cav patch is a bit (but just a bit), on the small size. At 3 13/16" wide and 5 1/4" long, its the largest patch in the Army. I like the addition of the issue horned rimmed glasses that were common of the period. We called them rape prevention goggles!

Super conversion, very natural pose, and all the spare parts fit nicely. We called the glasses BCGs (birth control glasses) because no woman is going to look twice at you with those things on your face. Great work can't wait to see how it paints up.

Really really nice work! Love the glasses, very 'period'!

I would have another look at the helmet. I think it is sitting a tad too high on the head.
