    Hi Guys ,

Now you all know I like my busts ....well after having aclean up I found this a while back , it mut be at least 20 yeras old possibly Monarch or Mitre Miniatures ..unsure who sculpted it either , about 60mm scale

So its a full figure (stands back in amazement with mouth wide open) ...a bit of a diversion ...of a Scots Grey Officer 1815 ..its undeniable that sculpting has so improved since this ..but hey I enjoyed doing it ......

Off to paint a bust ..forgive me for I have sinned

There's something quite appealing about these old school figures.
    Very nicely done Kev.

I think you will find that it is Thistle Miniatures sculpted by John Barber.

    Hi Kevin,
A great little figure and it's good to see a few coming up on pF lately. He looks really good in his evening attire and its great that you can still paint legs,
    Jimbo will be pleased.
Without knowing hay from a bulls foot can I ask the font of all knowledge one question...I thought that the worming around the bonnet was yellow on black/dark blue. Do you know when the colour changed from red?
    Cheers Mate and speak soon,

    Hi Keith ,

Thanks for all the comments ..ref the cap I used a black and white pencil drawing 000f6a1e_medium.jpg from the book quoted below

In the Almark publication No 8 (Union Brigade (Soldiers of the Napoleonic Wars series by Bryan Fosten) th.jpg it states on page 106 :

"Caps were soft blue cloth bonnets with bands of the jacket colour with a fluffy red pom-pom on the top.
In the case of the Greys the red bands were decorated with white zigzag"

but he is an officer ..possibly a bit dandyish

..I will try and find out more .

PS ..Yes it does say 55p on the cover !!!!

    Hi Kevin,
This D F Grieve figure was what I had in mind but I think that you may be right on the pre amalgamations

Zig zag was white for the Greys, only became yellow on amalgamation with 3 Carabiniers.
