Ken , great subject choice. Very unusual. Kevin told me about this project and I was looking forward to seeing it.
Two things: I think the gas mask container might benifit from the odd dent, it looks rather pristine. Also he looks a little narrow chested. From the rear he is spot on, but considering he's wearing a coat he could be beefed up , to push the arms out a little on the lower part at the front.

Robert, comments much appreciated, in regards to pristine container, my excuse is that the several reference pics show them to be all old and rusty , not one dent in sight and although I'm sure some were damaged, I'm going to leave it to the painter to add or not. Great idea though.

He,s looking good.Can i suggest something .As the bottom of the gas mask is like a V shape.What about reflecting that shape in the bottom of the bust .In other words make the bottom of the bust V shaped ,because finishing it with a flat line looks,well flat.that way you can add a bit more to the ammo pouches which are interesting in their own right

Beautifully sculpted and an interesting subject. He does look a little narrow in the chest as Robert noted, but I wouldn't call the proportions incorrect he might just be a narrow chest guy.

Many thanks for the comment and yes as an experiment I built up the top part of the face and painted the eyes, then built up the gas mask and finally made 2 rings of duro and glued clear plastic to the inside. In the process I think I must of gotten some glue on the plastic causeing them to go misty, luckily that was the effect of condensation I was after

Really interesting subject. As Im a beginner its good to see the work in progress images too, showing all the different materials you have used and where you have used them. Look forward to seeing the updated pics with the V shape lower section - be interested to see how this is 'added' onto what looks to me like a carefully finished piece.
