    Hi All,

Here's a piece that I was attracted to for its unusual and well-sculpted sitting pose. Having Austrian roots it seemed a nice and colorful addition to the display cabinet.

The sculpt is a bit rough, which makes painting challenging in places such as the face and hands. The general surface of the sculpt also needs some smoothing in places. Assembly of the chair needs some good old modelling skills and patience, as the parts of the chair and figure need to be well-alignment. I needed a layer of magic sculpt to make the figure's back sit snugly against the seat's back. So some care is needed but overall this is a very nice figure that I can recommend.

Painting done with Vallejo acrylics. The pictures gave me some pointers for finishing up, but the overall impression is there. Carpet is a paper item from ETA Diorama (highly recommended for original diorama/groundwork accessories!) laminated with a sheet of plastic, matted down with varnish and shaded with thinned acrylics.

    Regards,
    Adrian

Great job Adrian. Love the subject and pose of this piece and even allowing for the issues around quality in certain areas on the figure you’ve done a super job. Some great potential in the uniforms of the Hapsburg empire from the period and would love to see some more figures from this era, maybe an Archduke Frank Ferdinand….

I too love the subject matter (being partially Austrian) and have considered this figure. You did a wonderful job despite the issues. Thank you for mentioning the issues BTW.
