This is the completion of the model and all comments are welcome and asked for.

I was trying to decide on how to display him, whether on a large overcropping or not. Then I found this photo on the Last of the Mohican website from the movie locations.


Loved this photo, so picked out this Thomas base I had on hand


Then modified it to fit the scene.


I used a large tree trunk at the rear to suggest large trees in the forest. Then added scrub trees growing.




The bottom of the jacket has a little more weathering on than the photo's are showing. I used pastels for the weathering. Both on the figure and the moccasins and the base to tie the figure to the base.
I have since added more frothing to the tops of the waterfalls since taking these photo's.
All in all, I am happy with the results. Thanks to all who replied with advice to my prior post.

What's the process for using pastels for weathering? And what are the best kind of pastels to use? I'm doing a Rommel and thought about using pastels for the sand on the overcoat. Chris

Costas: I took some hints from your great groundworks and thank
you for all your tips.

Chris: The pastels I used were from Tamiya and I used both the
sand and mud. I scraped some of the colour with a toothpick
to loosen it up and then used an old stubby brush and dabbed
the colour on and also brushed it on with a better soft flat
brush. Blew off the loose and then redid some areas. If you
dont like it you can wash it off with water and a drop of
dishwash liquid.
