Here is the project Im working on at the moment. Don't really feel like painting and I feel that I need to really work on my sculpting after the last figures I did. What Im doing here is a couple of soldiers in a fire fight, in some tall grass, one guy got his leg shot up and his buddy is pulling him out of the firing line. I might add a third figure laying down some cover fire, havent really decided yet.

Anyways, the resin head is a Verlinden head that I might alter the expression on a little, and the bare head is a Jaguar head.

Enough talk, here are some progress pics. Im about at the same stage with the standing guy as I am with the wounded, but I didnt take any pics of him yet, will do soon. I am really happy with the folds, I think they are the best I have done so far, but maybe not, what you think?

Thats does sound like a really interesting figure vignette,i think if you decide to add the third figure laying down some covering fire would really bring out the action some as the wounded guy being extracted under fire. ;)

    Hey Anders,

Looking really nice and I think the 3 rd figure would be a nice addition. I have one question about the guy who is shot in the leg. From what I gather you are making this as it has just happened? From my own experience, I think that the pants leg would only be a slight rip and not wide open, unless someone has taken a look at it. If anything the back of the trousers would have the larger exit wound, if it did exit. Sorry for the ramble but if it were a booby trap or grenade it could have the larger rip and if this was the case I think it would be a little more irregular and not so vertical.

Please don't take this the wrong way this is just what I see and you know me I can definitely be wrong! I do agree with you that your folds are better and I think you and Jason should be given the quickest improved award! Both of you are doing some great work.

    Hey Guys!

    Thanks for the comments!

I will contemplate more on the third figure, but I am leaning towards a yes. The main thing is that I have a Verlinden figure that would work good for this purpose, but then again, I think that I would want to sculpt it also as the other two are sculpted. What are you guys's thought about that? About mixing sculpted figures with manufactured figures in a small vignette like this?

Joe, you are right, I don't know what I was thinking, I think that I wanted to show the leg that I sculpted underneath more. But for some reason I was thinking that someone had pulled the pant leg open, but now that you say it it really don't make any sense. I am not sure exactly what to do about it, any suggestions? I kinda wanna show the leg underneath, but I suppose that really isnt a must. Maybe a wound from some sharpnell (sp?) would tear the pants open? Maybe I can add a piece of metal sticking out of the leg? From watching We Were Soldiers several times, it looked like some of the wounds were very gory, and maybe that would work out good.

    Hey Anders,

I think the leg looks good so why don't you make the buddy pulling him a medic? Then you could add some kind of a bandage.

I personally don't think it would look as good intermixing originals and kits. The reason are the different styles of sculpting. That's just my thoughts.

Anders,EXCELLENT (y) (y) !! I'd go with what Joe suggested and make the guy pulling the wounded man a medic.More drama and the added excuse to have bandages and stuff on the wounded area.Looking forward to the 3rd trooper ! Cheers.
